« (...) Then we seek and we find a peaceful haven. We are entranced by Denise Lioté’s incredible clouds. Yes, we are entitled to identify as clouds these vaporous and buoyant masses, blue and pink, even coppery. They cannot be seen as emanating from the planet but they draw us into the heights.

 

"Flights"... This is a title that could be applied to many different paintings, particularly when, on the rare occasion, easily recognisable birds appear. But there is nothing bland about these solid paintings in spite of their lightness. »
